Water Line FAQs

Q: What is a water line?

A: Water lines are underground pipes that carry water from a reservoir, pumping station, or water tower, to your home.

Q: Am I responsible for fixing a water line break?

A: Despite what most people think, your town is not responsible for maintaining the water lines that run to your house. If a water line breaks, it’s up to the home or property owner to fix it.

Q: How does a water line break?

A: Water lines can break or crack due to a number of reasons, but the most common one is a corroded pipe. Over time, water and sediments will eat away at a pipe until it becomes thin and fragile. Water mains can also break due to earthquakes, fallen trees, and excessive pressure.

A: Most other companies would have to dig up the area around your pipe in order to fix it, but not Mitch Wright! Our trenchless technology allows us to repair and even replace a main water line without digging up your yard.
