How to Have a Slip-Free Bathroom

Splish, splash, you’re taking a bath — and then you suddenly slip when standing up. If you’re looking for the best way to stay afloat in your bathroom, then there are some ways to have a slip-free home — and we’re here to share that information with you!

Invest in a Bathmat

One of the best ways to have a slip-free bathroom is to purchase a bathmat. Usually inexpensive, these are indeed a wise investment since they last quite a long time — and prevent slips, too.

When it comes to bathmats, there are two different variations: one will go inside your bathtub (thanks to suction cups), while the other will be for outside of your tub/shower, to prevent slips on the tile floor. These two mats will be extremely beneficial and will make your bathing experiences a tad safer than before!

Get an Area Rug

Another way to prevent slips and falls in your bathroom is to roll out an area rug. Depending on the size of your bathroom, there are a few different options you can choose from when it comes to area rugs. For example, if your bathroom is tiny, you can get a small square rug. However, if your bathroom is long, you can get a runner carpet (long and rectangular).

Not only will this be the perfect way to help prevent slips and falls, but this will also be the best way to keep your bathroom floor warm — since tile can be quite cold and unpleasant throughout the year. Additionally, a carpet is simple to clean, since most can either be vacuumed or thrown in the washing machine!

Opt for Protective Footwear

Not sold on the idea of having an area rug in your bathroom? Then it may be wise to invest in some bathroom footwear. Of course, we’re not talking about getting an extensive line of ~fancy~ footwear, but a pair of flip-flops or slippers to keep outside your bathroom door.

Protective footwear will also keep your feet safe if you happen to drop a glass in your bathroom. No matter what you opt for, having some footwear nearby will be quite helpful when it comes to preventing slips and falls within your bathroom.
