2020 Home Holiday Trends

Fall home decorations

As the holidays approach it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to decorate your home and get in the holiday spirit. If you are thinking about how to make your house more festive for the season, here are a few top holiday trends to consider for 2020.

Go Big or Go Home

This year has been unique, to say the least. Due to the pandemic, people have more time on their hands at home, and since we’ll be more limited in the gatherings we can have, many individuals will be driving around and looking at other peoples' exterior decorations.

Now is the time to go big. There are numerous inflatable features available and other large lighted items that can be placed around your yard. Of course, you can always go for the classic decor and line your house, trees, and shrubs with ornaments and strings of lights.

Incorporate Natural Elements

Another big home holiday trend this year is incorporating natural elements. This year while decorating your home try using more elements, like pinecones or dried fruits in your centerpieces and wreaths. Also, try natural evergreen pieces, or dried branches. These bring a sense of the outdoors into your home.

Farmhouse Aesthetic

The farmhouse aesthetic is popular for inside decor, especially around the holidays. It brings a cozy feeling to any space. Warmth and simplicity are brought to the forefront by using natural textures and wood accessories. You can also incorporate some buffalo plaid into the room with ribbon, a table cloth, or table runner.

Throughout the holiday, it’s important to keep your home comfortable. Besides your decorating choices, be sure that your home heating system is working as efficiently as possible. Contact Mitch Wright Plumbing, Heating & Air for all of your home heating needs!
